I think the arrow is more than too often over looked in every day life, and we take it for granted. Instantly when we look at an arrow we know what direction we need to be traveling in. How lost would we be without arrows? Is there any other type of symbol or indicator that is or could be as powerful than the arrow?

This is visual research I have collected from a day out around bournemouth and poole collecting imges of different shapes sizes and types of arrows. I collected them from bournemouth university, AIB, hmv music store, book shops, street signs, wharehouse industrial parks, fire escapes, shopping centre signs, marks and spencers, car parks, supermarkets, bournemouth airport and so on.
